Introducing our Training on Workplace Mentoring

This comprehensive training on workplace mentoring is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, skill, and attitudes necessary to become an effective mentor.

The course covers a range of topics, including coaching vs mentoring, developing mentor specific plans, and managing a variety of mentoring engagements.

Participants will learn about the key principles of mentoring, and the importance of establishing a collaborative mentor-mentee relationship.

Participants will gain a better understanding of the mentor-mentee relationship and what it takes to be effective in this role.

  • Define a clear set of guidelines and principles for a successful mentor/mentee engagement.
  • Utilise key strategies to provide effective support as a mentor.

Outline

Roles and Responsibilities – Examining the roles of the mentor and mentee in their relationship and how these evolve during different stages of the mentoring process.

Code of Practice and Confidentiality – Recognising the importance of being discreet as a mentor and understanding what should and should not be done.

Mentoring Agreement – Understanding the importance of having an agreement before commencing the mentoring relationship and creating a sample agreement.

Promoting Reflection – Exploring the significance of reflection in a mentoring relationship and strategies to foster reflective thinking.

Facilitative versus Directive Mentoring –  Understanding the right time to challenge and guide for optimal outcomes

Utilising Questions – Examining Various Question Types for Mentors to Achieve Diverse Outcomes

Providing Feedback – Using a feedback framework to delineate various levels of feedback and their implementation

Practical Implementation – Putting the skills learnt into practice
